The county seat of Lovelock along Interstate 80 is Pershing County’s largest town and the center of this rural county’s economy.  Surrounding Lovelock, rich mineral deposits of gold, silver, tungsten and other metals give life to a flourishing mining economy. Rye Patch Reservoir north of Lovelock is a center of boating, fishing, and recreation. From the reservoir, the Humboldt River winds through the county, giving life to alfalfa farms, cattle ranches and other agriculture.
